It’s time for the 2023 Back to School shopping sales and deals. While many homeschool families run on a more year-round schedule, the annual back to school sales are always a great time to stock up on staples and supplies.

Here in silly California we don’t have “No Tax Weekend” so I had NEVER heard of it (until last year!!!), but if you are lucky enough to live in a state that does this, it’s a great way to get your supplies for the coming school year for less. Michaels Stores Buy one Get one 50% off on Crayola and Creatology art supplies. 30% off Creatology bulletin board supplies and “learning kits”. Plus if it isn’t on sale you can use the code DAILY23US for 20% off all regular price items. We love these lap desks that are currently on sale for $5.99! They also have an option, similar to Target, for teachers to join Michael’s rewards and receive 15% off your entire order including sale items! (enroll HERE). They are currently offering free shipping on orders $49 and up.
Target The official B2S headquarters as far as this family is concerned, you can find supplies starting at $0.25! They also have a program for teachers to get an additional discount, you need to make a “Teacher ID”, easily done in an app like Pic Collage or Canva, and upload it on the site, but it’s pretty easy and totally worth it! Office Depot You’ll find deals of up to 60% off the best-selling school supplies for Kindergarten-college at Office Depot. They have art supplies starting at $0.35 and it’s a great place to get a serious calculator. Make sure to check out the “DEAL OF THE WEEK” too. They also offer curbside pick up if you are local to an Office Depot, and they also participate in Tax Free Days.
Kohl’s Deals on clothes, shoes, socks, lunch bags and character backpacks (up to 25% off with coupon), Kohl’s has what you need to be dressed for all your super fun homeschool field trips (and even get some new PJs for those snuggly days where you don’t go anywhere!). IKEA -ok, yes this Back to School sale is aimed at young adults headed off to college- but as a homeschooler, it’s one of my FAVORITE B2S sale events of the year!! Stock up on homeschool organization essentials like THIS CART . Their Back to College event runs 7/12-7/25/23.
Walmart Another “one-stop-shop” option with deals on everything from laptops to clothes to supplies, Walmart has it all! Tech (like headphones) and backpacks from $15 and up, snacks from $2 and up and supplies starting at $0.25 are a few of our fave finds. Walmart also has some awesome STEM options, board games and organizing supplies worth checking out!
99 Cents Only Store, Dollar Tree and Dollar General all have Back To School deals worth checking out- 99 cents only stores are a shop-in-person affair, but both Dollar Tree and Dollar General have online shopping options. These are great spots to find general consumable supplies, fun stuff for project based learning, organization items, and great deals on food too!
JC Penny Homeschoolers can be rough on our threads because we are constantly out adventuring, and kids grow FAST. Check out JC Penny’s Back To School sale for big savings on clothes, active wear, shoes, back packs, tech, and even water bottles.
Barnes and Noble There are loads of great places to buy books, and we have a B & N that’s less than a mile from home, so it’s a place we often go to shop for birthday gifts-check out their Back to School deals and stock up on anything you need for your upcoming novel studies, research projects and more!
Old Navy Another great option for back to homeschool gear is Old Navy. Every outfit for every season at big savings. They are constantly having sales, so check back regularly for current deals.
Macy’s You’ll find deals on clothes and gear for the season at Macy’s along with dorm essentials for those heading off to college. It’s a good time to check their deals and offers section too!
Etsy- Don’t forget your favorite small businesses this season, Etsy has plenty of back to school discounts and is the perfect place to buy craft kits, art kits, maps, vintage items, personalized goods, and incredible craft and lesson plan supplies!
Teachers Pay Teachers- Stock up on fun stuff at TPT this back-to-homeschool season. Shop the ON SALE tab for deals and the FREE section for fun freebies any time!
Apple If you are in need of some new tech this season, Apple has a few deals to scope. Their Ed deals are available to newly accepted or current college students and their parents, as well as homeschool teachers of all grade levels! YAY!
Best Buy- another good spot to shop for B2S tech- ear pods, headphones, keyboards, a replacement mouse for the one your kid keeps drop kicking across the house when they are trying to carry too many things….
